Advanced Form: La Ronde

La Ronde is a character-based long-form structure where each scene leads into the next, creating a connected chain of characters, relationships, and storylines. Rather than starting from scratch each time, players build a larger world one scene at a time—tracking emotional shifts, recurring themes, and the ripple effects of each interaction.

In this class, students will focus on clear character choices, grounded relationship work, continuity across scenes, and strong ensemble listening. Expect coached repetition, side notes, and structured practice aimed at helping you build a form that feels connected, dynamic, and alive. The session ends with a showcase performance of La Ronde.

Prerequisite: Level 301 / Improv 3 or above from PHIT or another established training center, or permission of the Education Director.

Adults 18+

Attendance: Because this course moves quickly, consistent attendance is important. Students should plan to attend both weekly meetings whenever possible. Participation in the showcase requires attendance at the final class.

Class size: Most sections run with 10–12 students. Enrollment is capped at 14 to support coaching, reps, and stage time.
